The smell of fish emulsion
and strawberries
the itch from the rash
brought on by the leaves of the tomatoes
soothed by the care of home cooked meals
and conversations about the events of the day
the fresh air of the activities that
entertained my young mind
Juxtaposed...
by the tension of feuding lovers
the pressure to excel
the elephant in the room
the desire to be a kid.
